Dr. BAI Xue’s research visit to LSE

Dr. BAI Xue, Assistant Professor of APSS was invited to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from June to July 2015. She served as Visiting Researcher in the Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRS), Department of Social Policy of LSE and presented on “Intergenerational Relations and Life Satisfaction of Older Adults” in PSSRU on 29 June, 2015.

Having met with the Head of Department of Social Policy, Professor David Lewis; Director of PSSRU, Professor Martin Knapp; faculty members in LSE and fellows from King’s College London and Oxford University in different occasions, Dr. BAI explored research collaborations and other academic exchange opportunities for APSS. Potential jointed research proposals include topic in “Mapping the future of informal care: Receipt and sources of informal care by older adults to 2041 in Hong Kong”, “Perceived loneliness and actual isolation of living-alone older adults: Which matters more for their mental health”, and retirement of older adults.

Dr. BAI will continue to connect and strengthen international research collaborations as she is appointed as Visiting Fellow in LSE from 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2017.
