PolyU–The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction Collaboration Programme

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) jointly developed a one-year disaster risk reduction collaboration programme (PolyU–UNISDR Collaboration Programme, or “CoPe”) that ran from 10th February 2015 to 10th February 2016. The programme aims to promote mutual collaboration in the area of disaster risk prevention and building risk-resilient development through education and research.

Signing of Statement of Cooperation between PolyU and UNISDR

14th to 18th March 2015

Participation in the United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan

10th to 11th September 2015

Visit to the UNISDR Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (UNISDR AP), Bangkok, Thailand

23rd September 2015 and 24th November 2015

Visit to The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) to explore research collaborations

17th to 19th November 2015

Participation in the Asia Leaders’ Meeting towards implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia, and 2nd ISDR Asia Partnership (IAP) Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction in New Delhi, India

12th to 16th October 2015

Organization of a series of public events at PolyU to support the International Day for Disaster Reduction 2015
