PolyU has been providing post-disaster support in Sichuan after the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. Dr. Timothy Sim, Associate Professor of APSS has been interviewed about the Sichuan Expanded School Mental Health Network. The video is now available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roIQ2YA5wL0 .
The research project is designed mainly to serve children, their schools, families and communities who were adversely affected by the Wenchuan earthquake. It helps the general public and relevant organizations to understand the psychosocial needs and resilience of children and their significant others in post‐disaster situations. The project also allows greater attention to be given to social workers and their roles in the post‐disaster social work in the Chinese mainland.
